Chris Norman, the former vocalist of Smokie, is delighted to announce that, following the release of new hits collection “The Definitive Hits – Smokie and Solo Years” on 19 April 2019, distributed via Absolute, he will be on tour in the UK in May / June [see below].
Chris and his fantastic band will be performing a set that will draw his amazing back catalogue that saw him notch up over 20 million albums sales globally as the lead singer of Smokie. As well as his own hits, Chris has worked with the likes of ABBA’s Agnetha, Donovan, Heavy Metal Kids, Cynthia Lennon, and duetted with Suzi Quattro on the hit ‘Stumblin’ In’. He even created the England football team’s World Cup ’82 hit ‘This Time’. This is a wonderful collection of dynamic songs and, of course, that wonderful voice is employed to full effect.
Chris says, “I’m really looking forward to May and June this year when I’ll be playing in the UK again for the first time for a long time; I love the UK audiences. I’m excited also about the release of ‘The Definitive Hits – Smokie and Solo Years’. The live shows will be packed full of the songs made my name and that I love to perform – and I know my fantastic fans love them too. See you all soon for some great concerts”.
“The Definitive Hits – Smokie and Solo Years”, is suffused with the power and class that comes from years of performing and hit making. More than that; it’s the sound of a musician connecting with the honest, simple process that imbued his greatest works with their undoubted heart and soul. Chris Norman is a performer with heart and soul, and talent to burn, as both this album and the live dates will prove once again.
