Ranko Veltro (guitars) stated, “Payback I one of my personal favourites from the album and was influenced by the likes of Disturbed and Marilyn Manson.  It’s the heaviest song we’ve recorded by far, it has some real power.”

Michael Angel (vocals/guitars) added, “Most of the songs within ‘The Awakening’ album have some very personal life experience driving the content and Payback is no exception. The song rages with the frustration and emotional turmoil that comes with the feeling of having no control, being powerless in a situation of absolute loss of trust.

“Payback is the realisation that we all have within us the power to affect our own destiny. Only we can change our future for the better, however much others try and knock us down. You just have to get back up on your feet. You don’t have to accept what others do or say, you can challenge it if it is not right for you.”

With a collective age of over 200, Fugitive are a melodic hard rock band from Liverpool, UK and proof-positive that you are never too old to rock hard and nor to give up on your dreams. In fact, last year, Fugitive performed at HRH AOR, HRH Ibiza and a whole host of shows across the UK.

Michael Angel and Ranko ‘Chip’ Veltro are longtime musical partners and have produced 2 studio albums under the name of FUGITIVE. But in 2017 the band undertook a line-up change, with bassist, David Steele, and drummer Al Catraz joining the pair to form what feels like a whole new band.

Having cut their teeth on the UK biker gig scene, MkII of the band knuckled down and wrote The Awakening, which is already garnering rave reviews across the rock press.
