Musician, writer and producer Erin McKeown heads to the UK this Autumn // Pretty Little Cemetary

Musician, writer and producer Erin McKeown heads to the UK this Autumn, including two solo shows at

London’s Green Note on Monday 9th and Tuesday 10th October

Known for her prolific disregard of stylistic boundaries (categorizing Erin’s musical genre is certainly a challenge I wouldn’t dare attempt…), her clever guitar playing and truly unique cool and collected vocals; Erin has developed and refined a distinct and challenging mix of American musical styles across her 11 studio albums and through a decade and a half of consistent touring.

Her latest album released earlier in 2017 Mirrors Break Back, includes the fun, flirty, morbid track Pretty Little Cemetary, take a listen below –

The darker themes and sharper-edged R&B sound of Mirrors Break Back are no accident. These 6 songs were conceived as a meditation on self-hate and a direct response to McKeown’s 2016 ode to self-confidence and identity album According To Us. Synths, programmed beats, and multi-tracked doo-wop background vocals add new shades of expression for McKeown as she wrestles with her worst impulses and negative thoughts.

Since self-releasing her debut record on her label TVP in 1999, Erin has toured throughout the world performing alongside the likes of Josh Ritter, The Indigo Girls and Ani DiFranco, also releasing her 2009 album Hundreds of Lions with Righteous Babe Records. Recently Erin has turned to a different stage, penning the musical ‘Miss You Like Hell’ with Quiara Alegria Hudes which premiered in 2016.
