About six years ago, fate had the very special idea of bringing together two musicians from the opposite ends of the world. Since then the Australian singer and guitarist Rhys and the German drummer Meike Jones, who got married in Las Vegas, have formed a unique tandem, which gave rise to the desire to create a common ‘wall of sound and filth‘. Due to the nature of the matter POWDER FOR PIGEONS were born. Inspired by the harsh surroundings of the hot and dusty outback of Western Australia, the power duo has developed a gigantic sound that fills the frequency spectrum with punchy, warm, deep, dirty guitar riffs and pounding drums that can be heard miles away. With a solid dose of powerful melodic vocals and a delightfully structured songwriting, their approach is often reminiscent of Alternative Rock icons of the 90s such as Helmet, Queens Of The Stone Age, Monster Magnet or Faith No More. With the successful pursuit of the DIY strategy, the two POWDER FOR PIGEONS have built an ever-growing fan base in more than ten countries with the raw and dirty power of a duo. They have already toured with Monster Magnet and shared stages with bands like Soulfly, Sepultura, Melvins, Clutch or Fu Manchu. After festivals such as Czad Festiwal (PL), Vestrock (NL), Öllesummer (EST), Freak Valley (D), Up in Smoke (CH), Stoned from the Underground (D), Desertfest, Roadkill (B), Poolbar Festival (AT) and Volcano Sessions (FR) POWDER FOR PIGEONS underline their status as one of the scene’s most exciting new acts. They now continue on their way with the brand new album “Over & Out”. Songs like the insisting and powerful opener “Catapult”, which will also be released as music video, as well as the exciting remixes of their songs “Personality” and “Lay It On” will also ensure that their legend evolves! With “Shitstorm City” the couple from Down Under also has a danceable Stoner Rock meets Grunge vibes track, which will surely make you dance and pogo on numerous Alternative dance floors. Next follows “Expectation” with a fat heavy guitar sound and a steady drum punch over that Rhys hits the right notes with his hypnotic voice. “Better Days” combines skillful Americana vibes with hard Alternative Rock influences. Finally, “Over And Out” awakens the yearning for more and particularly for the visit of one of their upcoming sweaty live shows!

As a foretaste of the new album, POWDER FOR PIGEONS have already released the video clip for the song “Personality”, which they produced with Chris Born (Rantanplan, Milowings, Beck & Rius). The music video gives an expressive insight as to what concert-goers can expect from the Aussie duo’s sweaty live shows.
