Mammothfest 2017 is over for another year and what a year it was! We are overwhelmed with the response from everyone that attended.
The opening day started with an invasion of black metal with UK exclusive sets from Norwegian act Tsjuder and of course the mighty headliners, Rotting Christ. This combination saw one of the most packed out crowds in Mammothfest history with the venue quickly reaching capacity.

The second day hosted the extreme metal stage and boasted a massive line-up featuring heavyweights Abhorrent Decimation, Meta-stasis, Lawnmower Deth (who added some humour and drama to the night with their drummer vomiting during their set), Akercocke, the mysterious Dragged Into Sunlight and of course the epic avant-garde Italian metallers Fleshgod Apocalypse with another UK headliner exclusive set. The headliners blew the crowd away and even conjured up an impressive wall of death.

The third and final day saw the main stage seeped in the finest stoner doom acts such as Patrick Walker (40 Watt Sun) and OHHMS. The captivating battle cries of Vodun stunned the crowd, and brought a whole different energy to the festival, before Belgian headliners Amenra took to the stage with an immense set; the third exclusive headliner to grace Mammothfest this year ended the weekend with a massive bang.

The Rikstock stage displayed some of the best emerging acts metal has to offer. This stage delivered more diversity in styles; featuring some tech metal in the form of Core of iO, thrash metal in the form of Thermit, hardcore in the form of Negative Measures and much more across all three days, highlighting the talents of local and upcoming acts from the Brighton area and across the world.
A special mention has to go to the mental south coast hardcore thrash act, Confronted. They managed to terrorise on lookers on the beach while frontman Ryan Hull kept running off the stage and going outside whacking his drum before putting it on his head and screaming at people with stunned expressions on their faces. It was certainly one of the most memorable sets of the weekend.

What an unforgettable weekend! The whole team would like to thank you all and raise our horns to you for the support and helping us make this unbelievable weekend as great as it was.
We’ve been going through all your tweets, facebook comments and Instagram tags; the social media coverage from everyone that came, from the bands, press and the wonderful punters has been amazing. We couldn’t be more thankful for sharing your experiences with us. Keep it coming!
WHAT’S NEXT FROM THE MAMMOTHFEST TEAM?
Get some rest and get ready for Mammothfest 2018…
However, if you can’t wait a whole year for more mental antics at the festival, we are hosting a special free entry Halloween show in conjunction with Devolution Magazine on October 29th at The Green Door Store in Brighton. Regular Mammothfest performers, Hell Puppets, will headline the event with support from Death Koolaid, Pretty Addicted, Terraborn and Dead Stiff.

That’s not all! We also have a hell of a Christmas party planned with Evil Scarecrow headlining. Support will come from Hell Puppets once again, along with electro metallers Magna Carta and atmospheric black metallers Sorrow Plagues back at this year’s festival venue, The Arch on December 9th.

We hope to see you all again very soon at our shows and stay tuned for news on Mammothfest 2018!
