After another hugely successful PledgeMusic campaign, and months of build up, The Dollyrots are delighted to be able to say that their new album Whiplash Splash is finally released. The sixth full length album to be released by the band in their fifteen plus years together, Whiplash Splash is receiving some of the best reviews of the band’s career to date.
The band – bassist and singer Kelly Ogden and guitarist Luis Cabezas, have as usual not had time to take a breath now that Whiplash Splash has been released. Instead they have done what all good punk rock bands would do, and hit the road, where they can currently be found in the middle of an American tour.
The band’s other activities have not stopped just because they are on the road. Indeed they have found time to put together a lyric video for another of the tracks from Whiplash Splash, the song”Mermaid” (which features heavily in the theme for the album’s artwork). Check out the Mermaid lyric video below:
Kelly has also provided a simple and eloquent explanation of exactly what the song is about:
“We all want to evolve but are often too afraid to step out of our element. Mermaid is inspired by those desires and fears as well as our love of the water and all its creatures. “
With another US tour planned for later in the year, and with more as yet unannounced plans in the works, 2017 is continuing where 2016 left off – another successful, busy year in the life of The Dollyrots.
