English rock n’ roll band The Magic Es have released their debut album It Goes On today via Oh Mercy! Records. The LP follows the singles Colour Up My World, Melody Jane and Running Scared, which received airplay and acclaim from BBC Introducing, Amazing Radio, BBC Radio Norfolk, XS Noize and One On One Music.
Since forming in 2014, The Magic Es have been busy picking up fans with blistering live shows and media attention. All lifelong musicians with world tours, top 40 singles and a wealth of musical experience under their belts, the boys came together after a chance meeting at a wedding led to them finding common ground in the simple pleasures of classic records and high-energy rock n’ roll.
As frontman Pete Thompson explains – “We’ve all been playing music for years. Stuart, Phil and I were playing at a friend’s wedding. The gig was in a marquee, which happened to be in Jasper’s garden. It turned out that Jasper not only had a garden fitting for a rock ‘n’ roll wedding; he was also a bass player of some pedigree and in the band Then Jerico. We shared stories about our various musical adventures, influences and aspirations and the band grew quickly from there”.
With a set of nine rough-around-the-edges power-pop songs, It Goes On is sure to find a home with those who still like their rock n’ roll well-crafted and authentic. Following sold out shows in late 2016, the band will be playing live dates and festivals this Spring and Summer in support of the album. For more info, head to wearemagic.co.uk
