SFERA New Song ‘Imperium’; ‘Death Will Come’ EP Now Available

Let’s talk ‘old-school’. There are two schools here: those who claim to sound ‘old-school’ – bands who espouse the virtues of old-school in every aspect – musically and aesthetically. These bands, though passionate, are often about as old as the latest trend to hit your little sister’s high school. Then there is ‘OLD-SCHOOL!’ – dudes who actually lived and breathed the various stages of extreme metal as they were being born. These bands are the real deal – no frills, no egos, no fucks given for anything but the music.

Toronto’s SFERA are one of these bands. Collectively, these guys have several decades of experience behind them through various projects, which includes OVERTHROW, SOULSTORM, NAILED and PEDESTRIAN 13. From the early, formative days of thrash, right through the birth of death metal, SFERA’s members were there – creating and forging extreme metal into the brutal beast that it has become today.

Watch the video for ‘Imperium’ below!

With their debut EP, Death Will Come, the guys have united these metallic traditions into a smoldering concoction of Death/Grind/Blackened Crust. This thing rumbles with the magnitude of a planet-splitting convulsion. For context, think the groove-heavy brutality of OBITUARY with the abrasiveness of BRUTAL TRUTH, topped off with the punch-to-the-fucking-face, street-fight extremity of NAILS.
